The Owls Under-18s and Under-21s seasons have now concluded.
The Under-18s’ hopes of a top two finish and subsequent qualification for the play-offs were ended on the final day in the mini–Steel City derby.
Andy Sharp’s side went down 1-0 against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Tuesday night.
Midfielder Jackson Blaize struck in the 95th minute to seal the points in the derby, meaning the Owls finish third in the Professional Development League.
Heading into the clash in S2, Wednesday were on a three-game winning streak with victories over Barnsley (2-0), Millwall (0-2) and QPR (5-1).
The youngsters required victory against the Blades to stand any chance of qualification for the play-offs, but the odds were stacked against Wednesday as second- placed Barnsley held a two-point advantage and a game in hand.

A 2-1 victory away at Ipswich on the final day was not quite enough for Andy Holdsworth’s side to seal a top two position.
Wednesday went a goal behind in Suffolk but two goals in as many minutes from Jay Buchan and Favour Onukwuli sealed a comeback victory.
The 21s have concluded their fixture programme and are a point behind second-placed Birmingham, who still have one game to play.
