Supporter conduct

Sheffield Wednesday are reminding supporters of your conduct whilst following the team both at Hillsborough and away from home.

Some historical incidents of unacceptable behaviour, thankfully rare, have undermined the family values of our club and those responsible and identified have been sanctioned accordingly, together with their details being passed to the respective police force and authorities. This policy remains squarely in place.

Offensive, discriminatory or any kind of unlawful chanting and/or abuse will result in ejection from stadia from the person/s responsible and sanctions include up to three-year and lifetime bans if deemed necessary.

Entrance onto the playing surface is a breach of all ground regulations - as well as the law - and will be treated as such.

Incidents involving the use of pyrotechnics either inside or outside stadia are not only dangerous, putting supporters, players and officials in serious physical danger, but also criminal offences.

Likewise the launching of coins or indeed any form of missile from the stands - Sheffield Wednesday have a zero tolerance policy to these and any other acts that break the law and/or breach ground regulations.

In addition, persistent standing at any game, home or away, may result in ejection from the respective stadium and the risk of further sanctions.

Sanctions, as illustrated below, are in place for any individual/s proven to be in breach of EFL Ground Regulations, which will be applied when necessary.

Thank you for your co-operation.

VISITING SUPPORTERS

We hope you enjoy your visit to Hillsborough and remind you that visiting supporters are subject to the same Ground Regulations and conduct expectations as outlined above for home fans.

Ground Regulations prohibit anyone persistently standing throughout the game, this is for your safety and comfort and to enable all your fellow fans to enjoy the football.

Of course, we recognise that at exciting times during the game fans will stand, however, persistent standing in seated areas is unsafe and gangways or any exit route must be kept clear at all times.

Stewards will seek your co-operation and any supporter persistently standing risks ejection from the stadium.

Licensing Authorities have also indicated that clubs whose supporters persistently stand will be subject to reduced ticket allocations.

At the present time we have been able to resist significant reductions but do ask for your co-operation to ensure that a reduction in capacity in the away supporters’ area is not actioned when your club visits Hillsborough again.

Please take notice of the instructions of stewards to protect the good reputation of your club and for the safety and enjoyment of all supporters.

Thank you for your cooperation and enjoy the game.
