Barry Bannan has clocked up 399 appearances for Sheffield Wednesday.
The skipper is now on the verge of joining an exclusive club of players who have made 400 appearances for the Owls.
There are only 14 players in the club’s entire history to have surpassed the 400-mark, including current team mate Liam Palmer.
Palmer is ninth on the club’s all-time list (432), two shy of John Fantham in eighth, while Bannan is in 15th spot on 399.
Bannan made his debut back in September 2015 away at Burnley and has motored up the SWFC appearance ranks in quickfire time, now on the cusp of a remarkable milestone in less than a decade.
The Owls head to Blackburn on Sunday, backed by a capacity 7,000 away following, where the skipper can hit the landmark figure.
