Barry Bannan made a young supporter’s day when he met eight-year-old Archie ahead of our Championship game against Coventry last Saturday.
Archie, who travelled with his family to the match from Ireland, has spina bifida and has been raising funds for charity by taking part in hand cycle challenges, with over £6,500 donated for several organisations.
To celebrate his birthday, Archie’s family surprised the youngster with a trip to Hillsborough to see his very first game, but little did he know he would meet his favourite player!
The youngster was taken pitchside for some photos before he noticed our skipper arriving and coming over to say hello.
Bannan signed Archie’s shirt and even gifted one extra surprise, an official matchday shirt reading ‘Bannan – 10’ on the back.
We hope you had a brilliant day, Archie and keep up the good work!
